Avoiding Diet Traps


Accept that eating healthy is a lifestyle change, not a diet.

If you are looking for a miracle cure to being overweight, the bad news is that there isn’t one.

I have seen so many clients who have spent years (and a lot of money) following fad diet traps, taking “magic” weight loss pills, supplements and drinks. As someone who has personal experience of being overweight and stuck in the diet trap knows, what eventually becomes clear that these “quick-fixes” do not work.

Diets are often more dangerous to your health than beneficial to it, leaving you dehydrated, fatigued, depriving you of essential nutrients and causing digestive problems. Rapid weight loss more often than not leads to rapid weight gain and so the cycle of yo-yo dieting continues, along with feelings of frustration, failure and low self-esteem.

The good news is that eating healthily, unlike diets, isn’t about deprivation or punishment, it’s enjoyable and, once you know how, it’s easy! At Mindgift, we focus on mind and body to help you escape the cycle of restrictive attempts at weight loss and establish a healthy, sustainable relationship to food.
